Literary News and Views

For those of you who live in the North East of the sometimes united states, you more than likely know about "THE BIG E" the festival held in Springfield MA, this year Sept. 18-Oct. 4.

I am sure many people already visit this event (I've heard they get about 100,000 visitors over just a weekend).

"There's no better place to enjoy the sights, sounds and taste tempting aromas of the fall season than at The Big E, New England's Autumn Tradition and the largest fair in the northeast. It's a New England extravaganza with top name entertainment, major exhibits, The Big E Super Circus, the Avenue of States, New England history and agriculture, animals, rides, shopping, crafts, a daily parade and a Mardi Gras parade and foods from around the world for 17 glorious days during New England's most colorful season. "

Well this year I will be one of the authors from CAPA (Connecticut Authors and Publishers) signing their books the Connecticut building in the Avenue of States.

So if you are visiting the BIG E Thur/Fri 24/25th Sept or Wed/Thur Sept 30th/Oct 1st please drop along to the Connecticut building and say hello. I'll be there with my book "Across the Pond" of course answering either to Barry or Storyheart.

A Laugh, a Joke and an English Accent

As I sometimes introduce my blog radio show "A Book and Chat" which by the way is becoming so popular I am now taking bookings for November. I am not really a writer, I always class myself as a Story Teller. However what I love doing is having fun, something I think we all should try and have in our lives.

So today's blog I'll give you a heads up (where did that saying come from?) about some up and coming events. Some interviews from this last week and a couple of jokes that I hope will bring a smile to your face.

THIS WEEK;

This week has been good for appearances and interviews

I was firstly one of the guests on ROBIN FALLS KIDS STORY TIME
Reading from my book and answering a couple of questions

JOKES:

Just a couple of small jokes I've heard this week that i hope might bring a smale to your faces.

I was walking around a school on open day and came upon a boy sitting by himself in a classroom. I asked him why he was joining in all the fun with the rest of the school.
"I was caught stealing apples sir"
That's not fair I though missing everything just for stealing a few apples.
At that moment a teacher came past.
"Jones" he said "tell the gentleman the whole truth, it was not just apples was it?"

"No sir" the boy replied "It was Apples, Dells, Compacts and HP's"

I was in the pub yesterday when I suddenly realized I desperately
needed to pas gas. The music was really, really loud, so I timed my
gas passing with the beat.

After a couple of songs, I started to feel better. I finished my
pint and noticed that everybody was staring at me..

Then I suddenly remembered that I was listening to my iPod.
